About us
Who are we?
The Bulgarian Institute for Neo-Reichian Analytical Psychotherapy’s main activity is the organization of a four-year post-graduate educational course in Neo-Reichian analytical psychotherapy. The aim of this education is to train specialists who can work for the balance of body, psyche, and spirit of the separate individual as part of a developed and more aware society.
Since 1994, without interruption, each autumn a new class of post-graduate students begin their education.
Since April 2012 the Forum of Body Psychotherapy Organizations, part of the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP), has accredited the Bulgarian Institute for Neo-Reichian Analytical Psychotherapy (BINAP) as complying with all its training standards. Our certificates have been recognized by the Bulgarian Association for Psychotherapy (BAP) and the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP).
The BINAP Institute is one of the leading European psychotherapy schools and is accredited to follow the latest EABP training standards
In the autumn of 2020, an experimental online education class began at the Institute. This education will require students to participate in two live mandatory ten-day (autumn and fall) training workshops where practical classes will be held.

Our history
In 2000, the “Waldo Bernasconi” Foundation was registered in Bulgaria and continues its educational activity, developed by the representation of APICS and WA.
Since 2011, the “Institute for Psychosomatic Psychotherapy” (IPP), based in Sofia, Bulgaria, has been the successor of these two organizations.
Since April 2012, the IPP has been accredited by the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP), and since 2019 – reaccredited for a subsequent period of 7 years.
In 2017, the Institute began carrying the name of the “Bulgarian Institute for Neo-Reichian Analytical Psychotherapy” Foundation in order to communicate its specific psychotherapeutic method, among the many body psychotherapy approaches globally.
Since 2019, the Institute’s name has been “Institute for Neo-Reichian Analytical Psychotherapy”.
